Schedule & Supply List

Week of Dec. 6-10

MONDAY, DEC. 6

READING

READING PROBLEMS: Helping Kids Read By Sound

This short exercise, working with six commonly misspelled words, may point up serious deficiencies with phonetic decoding. If you don't "see" the letters in words because you aren't reading by sound, you are likely to misunderstand them, mis-categorize them mentally, and misspell them when you try to use them in your own writing later on. Exercises like this can really help.

TUESDAY, DEC. 7
WRITING
VOICE: Like I Told You. . . .

Practice communicating in your own "voice," or personality, by first writing a paper, and then telling it to someone, so that you can see which version is most natural and interesting. Then you know . . . that's the real you!
