As Halloween approaches, children are going to see more spiders in decorations
-- and as the cold weather approaches, they may encounter more spiders indoors!
But there's no need to fear spiders, and children can come to love and value
them through this beloved African folk tale. They can make their own
"Anansi" afterwards with that staple of childhood creativity -- pipe
cleaners!
Snack: Fruit-flavored yogurt, granola, spoon, milk
Supplies: 4 pipe cleaners, 1 pompom, scissors, glue, paper punch, colorful
paper scraps
