Snow Art

Today's Snack Idea: cocoa and toast points for dipping, for après-snow warmth.

--------------------

Here are ways to have more fun in the snow after sledding, snowman-building and snow-angel creation have already been done:

Snow Spritzing

Fill squeeze bottles with water and different colors of food coloring. Let the kids go out and spray up a storm!

Snow Painting

Mix watercolor or tempera paint in plastic containers and bring the paint outside with larger paintbrushes; they'll have fun finishing a snowman in decorator colors!

Indoor Icicle Painting

If you're lucky enough to have icicles on your roofline, you can use them. Or freeze a tray of ice cubes with a popsicle stick coming out of each cube. Cover a table with newspaper. Set out watercolor paper or waxed paper. Let your child rub designs with their "icicles," real (better wear mittens) or fabricated, across the surface of the paper, then sprinkle dry paint over the lines.

Indoor Snow Art

On a winter day with no snow, spray shaving cream on a table or placemat. Let your child fingerpaint with it. When the design is completed, press a piece of dark construction paper over it. Voila! A snow scene!
